For those who know me, I'm a big fan of David A. Fields, expert coach for consultants. He routinely shares his consulting wisdom on his informative blog and he just posted another great article introducing the concept of “micro deposits.” I won’t even try to explain what it is, as he does a great job doing that himself in a short article here.
By the way, if you are in the San Francisco area, I would highly recommend you attend his Solo Practice Accelerator workshop. I don’t get a dime for doing this, but I’m sharing it because it really helped me jump-start my own consulting business by attending this same workshop earlier this year. Will Bachman from Umbrex/Veritux has 7 immediate opportunities he needs to fill ASAP for one client. All of these projects are full-time 1099 and require you to be on-site 4 days a week, either in NYC or Toronto, but they are open to consultants who are currently not located in those cities. Budget is $800 to $1000 per day range. Start date is July 29 and he is seeking to identify consultants no later than Tuesday, July 16. So act fast, if you are interested!
Plant move (6 months): Help client move injection molding and metal fabrication facilities
Org Design and Culture Change / PMO (6 months): Coordinate transformation effort. Need 3 people for this work stream
Order to cash and procure-to-pay projects (6 months): Oversee the implementation of already defined O2C and P2P processes
Process improvement project (2 months): Map processes; design future state
Project Management Office (6 months): Generalist to develop presentations, consolidate info, provide summary updates across the work streams
